I know I don’t speak for myself when I say I indulged over the holidays! If you’re like me, dealings with the effects of over-indulgence and menopause after the holidays can send you into quite the tizzy. The urge to begin losing weight is intense. I relate to this so much!

Mindfulness, is a tricky concept, isn’t it? You always hear about how mindful you should be and how you should meditate every day. But life is tough! You may be a busy mom, an ambitious entrepreneur, or a late-in-life grad student. You more likely than not have a very full plate. I mean, really–do you ever get around to actually practicing mindfulness? If your answer is no, don’t worry. I get it.

Menopause, as you may know, is a difficult time in a woman’s life. It’s filled with hormonal changes, weird side effects (hot flashes, galore!), and physical changes that can warp the way you view yourself.

While it’s definitely a difficult time, it’s also a time that allows you to reflect on your past years and gain insights you otherwise wouldn’t have gained.

As I’ve moved through my own experience with menopause, it’s caused me to get really clear about the amazing things in my life, the not-so-great things in my life, and the stuff I wish I knew before it was too late. And one of those things is the relationship I’ve had with fear throughout my life.

I’d be willing to bet you have a closet in your home filled with the following: clothes with the tags still attached, unopened thing-a-ma-bobs you swore you needed, and other material possessions that haven’t seen the light of day since the beginning of the millennium.

Fear–that intensely unpleasant emotion we’ve all felt. It can wreak all sorts of havoc on our lives and can greatly interrupt our mental, spiritual, and physical growth! It keeps us from achieving our goals and moving forward in life. Plus, it can become truly debilitating if we let it!

To put it plainly, fear keeps us stuck.

With that in mind, today, I want to talk about a few ways you can combat fear and get what you want out of life.

Let’s get started!
